Deliciously easy summer bliss is yours in 3, 2..
Here’s a little secret between me and you:
I’ve never made traditional limoncello. As a girl born to a very Italian family who’s made the trek to the motherland over a dozen times, I don’t really know quite how that’s happened – but it’s true. I know there’s peeling and jarring and WAITING and waiting (and did I mention waiting?) involved – and as a perpetually impatient individual, ain’t nobody got time for that.
Flash forward to a few months ago when I was gifted this book by my boyfriend, master of the not-so-subtle hint. My best guess is he was hoping the inspiration would pay off when we make dinner together – but no, straight to the booze I went. Sorry Jon.
Anyway, like I said – this recipe could not be easier. Slice Lemons. Add Vodka and Simple Syrup. Wait.
That’s it.
See the slightly arbitrary recipe below:
5 oz. of vodka
5 oz. of simple syrup – (DON’T buy this, please. You’re better than that. Just put equal parts sugar & water in a pot on low heat and wait until the sugar’s dissolved, and add it to the vodka once cooled!)
1 lemon, sliced into ¼” thick rounds
16 oz. Mason jar
—
Put it all in the jar and give it a generous shake, toss it in the freezer, and promptly enjoy tomorrow evening.
You’re welcome.
Cheers!
